“Best steak & squid around! Love this place!”
Whilst staying in Tunbridge Wells, booked for a Friday evening as the reviews were very good. We were not disappointed, the food selection looked promising and we chose starters and mains. The food and service were excellent, and whilst chatting to one of the staff she mentioned that they had rooms as well, so would definitely consider staying there also when next in Tunbridge Wells. Overall a great place to eat and socialise.
'Went with the family to the restaurant for Sunday lunch and it was one of the best roasts I've ever had! The quality of the food and the service received was exceptional. Would definitely recommend a visit'
'Staff lovely and helpful; outside area well spaced and makes you feel comfortable in a Covid world, and the food and drink are wonderful. And if it’s still on the menu you should absolutely try the sour cherry and amaretto ice cream!! I’ve been coming here on and off for 30+ years it’s always been good but never better than it is now.'
What an excellent venue, restaurant and staff. I messaged Mount Edgcumbe to arrange a birthday dinner for 12 and was offered a private room on Saturday night. The room was fantastic, with comfy sofas with a log fire for pre-meal drinks, dedicated waiting service all evening, and when we were ready a beautifully set table for our meal in an adjoining room. The food was ordered 48 hours in advance, 3 courses for 12 people, and was served expertly with a minimum of fuss, the food was wonderful without exception and the whole evening was made a special occasion by a really professional team and a lovely setting.
"As a couple, we pop in on a regular basis and this week we arranged for another three couples to join us. The food, service and attention were excellent (as usual) and all the couples waxed lyrical about their experience, asking for us to do this once a month. It was lunch so most of us opted for nibbles to start off followed by starters, followed by various coffees. Lovely lunch for all"
We had a lovely time, with some delicious food, great service and fab atmosphere. The waitresses were really helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. The food was yummy and loved the outside inside space allowing dogs to come in too
Reserve our Cave for nibbles and drinks for small groups. It is quite snug so we would not recommend booking it for a full sit down meal, but it is perfect for informal gatherings!
(Our Cave can only seat up to 10 people)
Our beer garden collects the sunshine all day in the Summer, and is a popular spot for locals to while away the hours while grazing on our sharing boards and sipping a crisp glass of white wine or a refreshing pint. We have a large patio area, half of which is covered by a clear heated marquee for the best of both worlds. So whether you are looking for a long lunch in the sun with friends or a quick beer and a burger, our garden is the place to be!
The garden, (our main attraction in the Summer), lays claim to uplifting views of the leafy, verdant Tunbridge Wells Common and surrounding sandstone rocks. The garden itself is expansive and fully equipped with tables and chairs for al fresco dining, as well as picnic benches to relax on with a refreshing cold beer. Our glorious space is maintained all year round, making sure that there is always something bright and beautiful for you to feast your eyes upon.
