Our restaurant operates over two floors, both floors offering an informal, cosy and interesting place to dine. If you are early to book then you may be fortunate enough to enjoy one of our popular window seats which offer views of our pretty garden and some of the sandstone rocks that are found in our local area. Over the years we have hosted an array of dining experiences, ranging from family gatherings and brief working lunches to old friends uniting and special birthdays. Our service is highly regarded by our visitors who we invite to feel at home here at the Mount Edgcumbe.
All of our menus feature locally sourced produce wherever possible, and we are certain that you’ll be able to taste the quality. Our meat is from Norsted Manor Farm in Orpington, our seafood is sourced from South Coast Fish, and fruit and vegetables from Entremmetier in Covent Garden. Dishes range seasonally from fresh, lively Summer plates to wholesome, comfort food in the Winter. We are also very careful to cater for all dietary requirements with vegetarian options and gluten-free options available.

“Great Atmosphere & Great Food!” --- Went here for a birthday lunch and could have stayed for the whole day. There was a really great atmosphere with plenty of people and despite being full up the service was spot on. The mood and buzz was really warm and just the right level so you could talk comfortably. The food selection was great and the quality was first class. Everything was cooked to perfection and had wonderful flavour. The venison and sautéed potatoes were outstanding. We will definitely be coming back more often.
Sunday Lunch” --- I came here with a friend to try the Sunday Lunch, received a welcome upon arrival and a drink offered either at the bar or table. When seated the service was welcoming and we were never having to ask for anything! The Sunday Lunch is one of the best I have had and I will struggle to find one that will beat it, the beef was lovely and tender, paired perfectly with a glass of Malbec! For desert we had homemade banoffee pie and a raspberry jam bake well tart, again the best I've tried yet! All followed with a great warming latte. Will definitely be returning, thank you to all the bar staff and chefs!
“Best steak & squid around! Love this place!”
“Awesome food, excellent service. The cheese soufflé was to die for, as was my venison. Top notch – we will be back!”
Our beer garden collects the sunshine all day in the Summer, and is a popular spot for locals to while the hours away while grazing on our sharing boards and sipping on a crisp bottle of Chenin Blanc. Visit our outside bar for craft beers and ales and to order your food. We have a large patio area with a water feature and picnic benches, so whether you are looking for a long lunch in the sun with friends or a quick beer and a burger, our garden is the place to be!
The garden, (our main attraction in the Summer), lays claim to uplifting views of the leafy, verdant Tunbridge Wells Common and surrounding sandstone rocks. The garden itself is expansive and fully equipped with tables and chairs for al fresco dining, as well as picnic benches to relax on with a refreshing cold beer. Our glorious space is maintained all year round, making sure that there is always something bright and beautiful for you to feast your eyes upon.
